Jones finally has a decent pool table! In fact it is tournament sized (9') and one of the nicest playing surfaces you can buy for a reasonable amount of money - Olhausen is one of the top brands and is now considered by many to be better than Brunswick.
First off the cue sticks, chalk, balls, and other accessories are stored next to the pool table (in the North Lobby) in a wooden cabinet mounted on the windows. Any Jones key will open this cabinet.
Although the pool table is big, heavy, and looks unbreakable, it is in fact very fragile. Please keep the pool table nice by following these rules:
Do not put food or beverage anywhere on the table!
Do not put any weight on the pool table - including book bags or backpacks! (This will cause the table become unlevel, and could even break the seam between the pieces of slate.)
Do not sit on the table! (This includes while you are taking a shot! Use the bridge!)
Do not attempt to pick up or move the table! (This needs to be done by professionals.)
Do not drop the pool sticks.
Do not sword fight with the pool sticks.
Failure to comply can result in fines. You have been warned. If you see anyone breaking these rules please do not hesitate to confront them.
The baby powder can be used to put on the area that the cue stick rests on your bridge hand to reduce friction. The lint rollers are used for cleaning the table. Please do not take either.
For maintenance, tip shaping, supplies, or questions please see Mike Taylor.
Special thanks to Danny Eaton and Vito Lucarelli for the awesome light.
(Recreational Rep: note that there is a sand paper tip shaper that looks like it could be used to sand cue sticks. Do NOT do this - it will almost instantly ruin the stick. I also recommend not putting all cue sticks in the cabinet as they are very quickly damaged. We should also get rid of the 10' snooker table (sell it!), the other broken pool table, and the busted foosball table.)
