Speakers
In accordance with an awesome tradition, every Friday afternoon/evening Jones plays outdoor music for everyone to enjoy in the quad / on the knuckles. Talk to the Special Services Coordinators (currently Alex Mrozack and Rick Gibb) for song requests, questions, or other uses for the speakers.
In the past we had a system called JACS (Jones Audio Control System) that allowed all Jonesians to vote for songs to be played. However this has not been reimplemented on the new website yet, and according to the current Special Services Coordinators will not be used this year. (Besides, most of you have terrible taste in music.)
Some people have complained about the noise, became irate with the Special Services Coordinators, and even gone as far as to take it upon themselves to turn down/off the music. While civil discourse will always be welcome, any hostility, and especially tampering with the equipment will not be tolerated. Any unauthorized touching of the speaker equipment is finable! The equipment is very expensive and surprisingly easy to damage/destroy; unless you both know what you are doing and have explicit permissions from the Special Services Coordinators then keep your hands off.
For those who care, the speakers are JBL MRX525's driven by a QSC PLX3102 amplifier. The subwoofer is a JBL PRX518S. They f**kin rock.
