Linda Evans
Linda Evans, Jones North Resident Associate
Although she grew up in the U.K., Linda received her B.A. in English from the University of Toronto and has been living in Houston for many years now. She has been working at Rice University since 2007 when she took a position as the graduate program coordinator with the English department, and in Fall 2008 she moved into Jones as the North resident associate. This is the start of her second year as an RA and, when she’s not at work, Linda enjoys visiting with friends, reading, working out (sporadically), sailing (Rice sailing team rocks!), watching movies and TV (especially comedy), dropping by the comic book store, and being rubbish at Guitar Hero. So whether you want to borrow Apples to Apples, play Jenga, read a copy of Watchmen, or check out some Arrested Development feel free to visit her. Linda also has two cats named Sammy (squeaky) and Domino (bacon fortress), and you are more than welcome to drop in and pet the cats. They may be shy at first, but they’ll warm up to you, especially if you have treats.

Marissa Howat
Marissa is the Jones South RA. She also is the assistant director of the Wellness Center. This means that a lot of her Jones related activities are nutritious, stress-reducing and/or healthy in nature. She is the staff advisor for the Health Reps (students who know about health and have handy first-aid kits). Marissa is happy to let you borrow kitchen supplies or a vacuum, or be the a lucky victim of one of her “culinary adventures.” One of her favorite things is finding new places to go running and meeting new people to run with! Also living in Jones South is Jack, a handsome Australian Shepherd dog. Some of his favorite things include meeting new people, food, licking new people, and going to the dog park.
